Branding & identity

A new business or a fresh start for an existing one. I design identities that suit the people behind them and work wherever they’re used.

Something that feels like you.

We’ll talk about the business, your customers and the impression you want to make. That gives the design a starting point beyond just picking a favourite colour.

More than a logo file.

Your colours, type and layouts need to work together. I’ll make sure the identity feels consistent across the things your business actually uses, with the right files for print and digital.

Room to keep what works.

If people already recognise your logo, we can build on it. A refresh can improve the details and bring everything together without throwing away that recognition.

Can you design the supporting material too?

Yes. Business cards, stationery, signage and your website can all be designed alongside the identity. We’ll agree which pieces you need when we plan the project.

How we’ll work together

  1. Find the right starting point.

Tell me what you do, who you want to reach and where the identity will appear. A local trade business and an online shop have different practical needs. We’ll also look at any existing branding worth keeping and agree the work you actually need.

  2. See the identity in use.

A logo needs to work beyond a presentation page. I’ll show how the proposed direction could sit on relevant items, such as a business card, website header or sign. Your feedback helps refine the chosen direction within the agreed scope.

  3. Leave with usable artwork.

The final handover includes the logo variations and file formats agreed for your project, with guidance on colours and type. I’ll explain which files to use where, so you are not guessing when a printer or web developer asks for your logo.

A few useful answers

Can you improve my existing logo?

Often, yes. It may need clearer lettering, better spacing or versions that work at smaller sizes. I’ll look at the original artwork first and explain whether a tidy-up, refresh or new direction makes sense.

What logo files will I receive?

We’ll confirm the handover in the quote. This normally includes vector artwork for scaling and suitable image files for everyday digital use, with colour and reversed versions where needed. Any font or stock-asset licences are discussed separately.

Do I need a full brand identity for a new business?

Not necessarily. A useful starting point might be a logo, colour palette, type choices and a short guide. We can keep the scope proportionate to what you need now and plan supporting material for later.

Can you work with branding another designer created?

Yes, provided you have the right to use the files. Send the logo, any brand guidelines and examples of existing material. I can design new pieces that sit comfortably alongside them.
