Graphic Design
Graphic design in Nottingham for brochures, flyers, signage, stationery and digital campaigns, backed by practical print and pre-press experience.
- Best for
- Businesses that need clear, consistent artwork for print, digital campaigns or day-to-day use.
- Typical outcomes
- Professional layouts, properly prepared artwork and a more consistent visual presentation.
Graphic design has to do more than look good on screen. It needs to organise information, feel consistent with the business and work properly in the format where people will actually see it. I design practical print and digital material for businesses in Nottinghamshire and across the UK.
Graphic design in Nottingham, grounded in production
I have spent more than a decade working across pre-press, artwork and print production as well as web development. That background shapes the work. A brochure is designed with folds, margins, image quality and finishing in mind. Large-format artwork is checked at the right scale. Logos and colours are prepared for the process that will reproduce them.
It saves time, reduces avoidable problems and means the finished item is less likely to drift away from the approved design when it reaches production.

Clear information comes before decoration
Most design problems are really hierarchy problems. Everything has been given the same weight, the reader does not know where to start or the message has been squeezed into a layout that was never planned for it.
I work through the content first: what has to be noticed, what supports it and what can be removed. Typography and spacing then do much of the work. The result should feel confident because it is clear, not because it is crowded with effects.
Artwork that is ready for the real world
Supplying a PDF does not automatically make artwork print-ready. Bleed, image resolution, colour spaces, overprint, transparencies, cutter guides and finishing tolerances can all affect the finished result. Where print is involved, I prepare files around the specification and can speak directly with the chosen supplier when something needs confirming.
If you already have artwork that is almost there, I can also help tidy, rebuild or correct it rather than starting the whole design again.
Keeping the brand consistent
Regular design work is easier when there is a usable system behind it. Existing brand guidelines can be followed, or I can establish templates and layout rules that make future pieces quicker to produce without every item looking identical.
If the underlying identity is the problem, a brand identity project can create the logo, colours, typography and supporting rules before the wider material is rolled out.
One-off projects or ongoing support
Some businesses need a single brochure or launch campaign. Others need a reliable designer who already understands the brand and can pick up regular work without a new introduction every time. Both are welcome. The scope, deadlines and file requirements are agreed clearly at the start.
Common questions
Can you arrange printing?
I can advise on specifications and prepare artwork for your chosen printer. Where appropriate, I can also help coordinate production, but the best route depends on the job and supplier.
Can you work with an existing brand?
Yes. I can follow supplied guidelines and existing artwork closely, or help close the gaps where the current system does not cover a particular format.
What files will I receive?
You will receive the agreed final formats for the job. That may include print-ready PDFs, web-ready images or editable source files where they form part of the scope.
Can you help improve the wording and structure?
Yes. Clear design depends on clear content, so I can help organise headings, shorten repeated copy and make the information easier to follow.
If you have a project in mind, send over the brief, size, deadline and intended use and I will let you know what is needed.
